St. John's UCC Germantownn

Maundy, or Holy, Thursday is celebrated this year on April 17. It commemorates the Last Supper on the night of Jesus’ arrest. The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin “mandatum”, which means “commandment” and refers to Jesus’ command at the Last Supper for his disciples to love one another. We will have a service that evening at 6:30, which will be more low-key and meditative. We will have a less formal celebration of Communion and a ceremony recalling Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. We hope you will attend this inspiring beginning of our remembrance of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
